I'm Mad About ...

Good morning. Let's get right to it:

  • There's so much great music out right now. I discovered San Francisco-based Nicki Bluhm the other day. Her voice is perfect for her country rock style. Have a listen and let me know what you think.
  • June is Adopt a Cat Month. Come on, you know you want to!
  • Looking for affordable art in LA? Check out the Tappan Collective pop-up Saturday at the Jeffries Building, 117 Winston St., at Werdin Place.
  • I love this sneak peek at the upcoming Cupcakes and Cashmere book. Emily's blog is so inspiring and beautiful. I can't wait for the book to come out.
Have a great weekend!

I'm Mad About ...

Nice to have a long weekend—I could use an extra day to relax and take care of some projects. That's if I have time—I've been invited to a party and a barbecue! I also hope to take some time to reflect on the sacrifices Memorial Day is meant to commemorate.

I'm Mad About ...

  • Thanks for this, Donna.
  • These folks do good work.
  • If I had a little girl, I would definitely make this for her (and for me!).

I'm Mad About...

I found so much good stuff this week, I don't know where to begin. Enjoy!
Tower Bridge of London pillow, Naked Decor
  • I want just about everything at Naked Decor! And the man behind the shop has a stunning home.
  • These Children's Story Posters make me feel like a kid again, but in a grown-up sort of way.
  • '80s alert: This Duran Duran video has me wondering whatever happened to my John Taylor poster.
  • Marcel the Shell is back, charming as ever.
  • Speaking of charming, have you met Dexter?
  • I don't know about this...

I'm Mad About...

Via fōnuts
  • I'd heard about fōnuts and I'm happy to year they taste as good as they look!
  • Dream video team: The Muppets and OK Go.
  • This almost has me wishing fall would arrive already (but really, I'm still clinging to summer).

Celebrate Blondie

July is International Blondie and Deborah Harry Month, and I can't possibly let that go unnoticed.

The influential punk band, fronted by the stylish and beautiful Debbie Harry, formed in the mid-'70s and is still going strong today. Its latest album, "Panic of Girls," was released in May in the U.K., and the band is touring Europe.

Blondie's self-titled album was released in 1976:

Here's the video for "Rapture," the only rap song I know all the words to (well, most of the words anyway).
